(More customer reviews)This is a very fine holster system at a good price. They use very nice leather and their fit and finish is excellent. The only reason I did not give them a Five Star rating is that I have a vertical holster system that I bought in 2003 (it's now July 2008).
Mine has wider shoulder straps for one. The holster has a steel coil spring to hold the pistol barrel into the holster. A loop of leather is pierced by the coil spring such that the bottom of the loop points up as a barrel rest. The magazine pouch even looks just a little bit smaller, either that or mine has stretched some which is possible after nearly six years.
Don't get me wrong Galco makes a superior product from any others that I've seen or used. Mine is going on its 6th year. It's sweat stained; a lot of the finish has worn off; even the "Chicago" screws have had their finish worn off. But, like the "pink" (copyrighted name omitted) bunny it still goes on ticking. You won't be disappointed in Galco's products as I have many and I'm quite happy with them. [I'm speculating, but since everyone has been affected by rising prices, while the dollar has declined 50% against the Euro since 2002, that Galco has had to make some changes, too.]
